Malus 'Royalty' (Crabapple)
March 2008. The blooms (which died from shock shortly after I planted the tree) seem to be really dark, which is good. I wanted purple leaves out front, but I don't really want pink flowers, since it would totally clash with my color scheme. This dark burgundy might be a good compromise. We'll see next year.
March 2008. The leaves were green when I bought the tree, and then darkened to purple. This is their in-between stage.
Planted 2 in March 2008. Location: Front corners of the house.
