Euphorbia dulcis 'Chameleon' (Purple Spurge)

April 2008
Planted 2 in Fall 2007. Location: Under Hawthorn and just outside master bedroom window.

Papaver orientale (Oriental Poppy)

I bought a pack of mixed colors, so we'll see what colors I end up getting. It's too bad that the foliage of this plant looks so much like a weed!

Tulipa 'Queen of Night' (Tulip)

Well, so much for accuracy in labeling. The first picture might be 'Queen of Night', and maaaaybe the second, but the others aren't, that's for sure. I'm putting them all in this post, though, since I have no idea what they might be. They were all taken in May 2008.

Planted 20 in Fall 2007. Location: West beds near the gate.

Single Late Group. Late Spring.

Tulipa praestans 'Van Tubergen's Variety' (Tulip)

Colocasia 'Magnum' (Elephant's Ear)

We finally got sprinklers onto this plant a few weeks ago, and just as expected, it's really started to take off. Too bad it's just about time to dig it up for the winter!

Buddleia davidii 'Petite Black Knight' (Butterfly Bush)

This Butterfly Bush came back from the dead, and is doing very well now.

Acidanthera bicolor (Peacock Orchid)

These pictures are both from my yard.

Hosta 'Hyacinthina' (Plantain Lily)

Sempervivum (Hen and Chicks)

Summer 2007. All of these 'hens' have many little 'chicks' at their base!
Fall 2007. They started getting these purple tips.March 2008. This is their color after a long, cold winter. I wish they'd stay this way!
May 2008. They are losing their purple color, but the 'chicks' are getting so big now! Some of them are as big as the original 'hens' when they were given to me in Fall 2006.
Planted 2 in Spring 2007. Location: Just East of the Hawthorn.

Campsis (Trumpet Vine)

I finally added this trellis netting to my fence so it can have something to hold onto. It's a 40' vine, and I'm got 2 of them sitting close to each other. I'm hoping to get it up the fence with this netting and then I'll just let it grow into the open space behind our fence. Hopefully it will smother out some of the weeds.

Helleborus x hybridus 'White Beauty' (Lenten Rose)

April 2008

Osteospermum 'FlowerPower Compact White' (African Daisy)

Monarda didyma 'Jacob Cline' (Bee Balm)

Summer 2007
May 2008. They are SO much bigger than I expected them to be at this stage. They are going to be great this summer! I even had 2 new big clumps come up from seed (I guess) about 10 feet away, so I transplanted them.
